5 qualities of a good journalist

 

                                                              


 A journalist becomes exceptionally good in the making when they are equipped with good qualities that they carry throughout their career. A true journalist is someone who possess good qualities and talents that help him/her become a better journalist and a person as well.

 

·        Attention to detail – One quality of a journalist is that of paying attention to minute details that are out there. Paying attention to detail requires knowing and learning new things, focussing on what’s required and discarding everything that’s not. By focussing on important things, a person is able to point out the important things and focus and put their time into that only.



 Communication skills – Another quality is of having good communication skills to rely on. Having good communication skills not only allows you to understand what the other person is saying but also allows you to convey your words to the public out there in a clear and simple language. While reading the news or doing debates it is important to have a good command on English to be able to present your words properly.



 Confidence- Journalism field is not for the poor heart people instead it’s for those who have the courage to pursue the news field. Being a journalist means having the confidence to be able to say the facts without any fear and present the voice of common people through the field of journalism.

 

Honesty – Being a journalist and being honest is an inevitable thing. You can’t runaway from being honest to the audience. As a journalist, it is their duty to present facts and news in an accurate, clear and honest manner

 

·         Good listener – One of the most important qualities of a being a journalist is that of being a good listener. Knowing when to speak and when to listen is an important thing. Being a good listener allows you to be attentive to other people’s stories and sayings. You are able to respond better when you listen better. Thus, being a good listener is like a plus point that a journalist carries within themselves.

      Thus by honing up to these qualities, a journalist can truly become a professional in their field.

The pahalgam Terror Attack happened on 22nd April 2025 where a total of 26 people (men) were killed brutally. This attack is known to be one of the most deadly attacks that ever took place.
